The former "Terminator" BMPT "Spiridon" found no place on the battlefield even after renaming

Dmitry Steshin: drones devalued assault vehicles in military-tactical terms

The tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) "Terminator" has already changed its name to "Spiridon", but it is unlikely to find a place in modern combat operations. This point of view was expressed by military journalist Dmitry Steshin.

According to him, it is difficult to find relevant targets for the former "Terminator".

Drones have devalued these assault vehicles in military-tactical terms. I think drones also knocked out the vehicles.

Steshin recalled that even then he noticed that the standard power supply system did not allow the EW to work fully, as it simply was not designed for it.

I passed on the wishes for the refinement of the "Spiridons" to the right place, directly into their hands. I hope the designers took into account the realities and wishes of practitioners? A trick question.
Dmitry Steshin, war correspondent

The "Spiridons" continued to be used in conjunction with T-90M and T-80BVM tanks. In fact, the BMPT became a kind of "bouncer" that clears the battlefield for heavier counterparts.
