Russia has presented India with an expanded proposal for the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter. It provides for licensed production of aircraft at Indian enterprises, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, as well as deep integration of Indian-developed weapons and onboard systems. The initiative was put forward by the Russian side during negotiations on the possible development of military-technical cooperation.
The project involves using the existing industrial base created for the production of Su-30MKI, which should accelerate the launch of assembly and reduce the time required to master the program.
One of the key elements of the initiative was the maximum adaptation of the aircraft to the requirements of the Indian Air Force. It is proposed to integrate national communication systems, electronic warfare systems, weapons, and other equipment developed by Indian industry into the complex.
In addition, the Russian side included artificial intelligence technologies in the proposal, designed to improve crew efficiency, process information from sensors, and support decision-making during combat missions.
Another important point was the broad opportunities for localization of production and the participation of Indian industry in the production of aircraft and individual components. The integration of promising Indian developments during further operation and modernization of the platform is also being discussed.
