The AGR automotive plant in Kaluga, formerly owned by Volkswagen, switched to a three-shift operation in February 2026. This was announced by Kaluga Region Governor Vladislav Shapsha following a visit by a government delegation to the enterprise.
The plant has increased its production capacity. Currently, the level of automation in body welding reaches 90%.
Some employees who were previously engaged in welding operations have been sent for retraining to the Federal Technopark of Professional Education. This is due to the transition to more modern production technologies and increased automation on the line.
After Volkswagen's departure, the Kaluga site was relaunched and is now operating in a new format. The plant has already established the assembly of cars under the Tenet brand.
Production is built with an emphasis on automated processes: robotic welding, modern assembly lines, and quality control at every stage. Today, the Tenet lineup includes four models: T4, T4L, T7, and T8.
