The Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (Kalashnikov Concern) registered 44 patents for inventions, utility models, and industrial designs in the small arms sector from early 2022 to June 2026, the company's press service reported.
The lion's share of patents – 20 – were granted to pneumatic pistols and rifles. Hunting shotguns and carbines are protected by 14 patents, and civilian pistols by five. The key author of the developments is Georgy Romanov, head of the pneumatics department: he holds 21 patents, three of which were registered this year.
These are not just numbers: each patent records a real design ready for production. In the civilian pneumatics and hunting weapons segment, where Western brands are traditionally strong, the plant is creating its own technological groundwork. For the consumer, this means legal and certified weapons with quality assurance and available spare parts.
