The Indian government is negotiating with the UAE for the sale of BrahMos missiles, a joint Russian-Indian production. This was reported by Reuters.
The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was developed by specialists from Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya and the Defence Research and Development Organisation of the Indian Ministry of Defence.
In 1995, the parties established the joint venture BrahMos Aerospace for the production of BrahMos. The missile has a range of 290 km and its speed is three times the speed of sound.
For Russia, this news is noteworthy because there was information in the media about the UAE's interest in the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter program and its withdrawal from the Rafale F5 program.
At the Dubai Airshow, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan personally inspected the export version of the Su-57 and even looked into the cockpit from a special viewing platform. The BrahMos missile is produced in land-based, sea-based, and air-launched variants.
