"Kalashnikov" Prepares Large Deliveries of New Anti-Drone Cartridges to India

The Concern Plans to Further Establish Ammunition Production at Indian Enterprises

Kalashnikov Concern has reached an advanced stage of negotiations with an Indian partner regarding the supply of large batches of anti-drone cartridges. The next step could be the transfer of technology and the organization of their production in India. This was announced by Maxim Karavaev, the concern's business development director in India.

According to Karavaev, the Russian company is developing two directions in the country related to countering drones with small arms.

The first direction is specialized smoothbore systems, including the Saiga-12 self-loading carbine, which is designed to combat small-sized UAVs. As Karavaev explained, the weapon's design is similar to the Kalashnikov assault rifle, making it easier for Indian military personnel and law enforcement officers to master its operation.

The second direction is related to new anti-drone cartridges for rifled automatic small arms already in service with Indian security forces. According to the concern's representative, the Indian side has long shown interest in this type of ammunition.

Karavaev also said that the parties are discussing trial deliveries of large batches of cartridges, and in the future, their production technology could be transferred to Indian enterprises that already produce ammunition.
