UAZ started stamping bodies for Sollers pickups from Russian galvanized steel

A new press production facility for body parts made of domestic galvanized metal has started operating in Ulyanovsk. The new line is designed to produce up to 800 thousand stamping operations per year and will become one of the largest sites for localizing body components for Sollers vehicles.

First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov launched the enterprise during his visit to the company's production site in Ulyanovsk.

The new complex is equipped with four powerful presses and robotic systems. Galvanized steel from Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works is used for the production of body elements. The line already produces hoods, roofs, front fenders, floor panels, and other large parts for Sollers pickups.

The next stage will be the expansion of production. The company intends to transfer the production of body parts for the Sollers S9 frame SUV, as well as UAZ vehicles, to the new complex. This will increase the level of localization and reduce dependence on imported components.

During his visit to the Ulyanovsk site, Denis Manturov was also shown a pre-production sample of the new Sollers S9 frame SUV. The model is aimed at the full-size SUV segment and will become one of the company's key projects in the coming years.
