Seven Earthquakes Recorded in the Black Sea: Tremors up to 4.4 Magnitude Registered near Sevastopol

Specialists did not record any damage in Crimea but warned of possible aftershocks

A series of tremors occurred off the Black Sea coast on the morning of June 22: seven earthquakes were recorded in the water area, two of which were felt by residents of Sevastopol. According to seismologists, the most noticeable oscillations reached magnitudes of 3.7 and 4.4 and occurred at a distance of approximately 26–30 kilometers from the city.

According to local authorities, infrastructure facilities were not damaged. The seismic activity was accompanied by foreshocks and aftershocks, which is typical for such serial events in the region.

Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev noted that the probability of repeated tremors remains, but emphasized that such seismicity for the Black Sea region is considered normal and does not pose a threat at current parameters. Residents are advised to remain calm and rely on official reports.

Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that a powerful earthquake of 6.3 magnitude occurred off the coast of Kamchatka. The epicenter was 183 km from Petropavlovsk and caused noticeable tremors in the city.
