Engineers from the Belarusian KB "Display" have developed a fixed-wing type drone "Vtolodron" with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). The device is designed for reconnaissance and determining the exact coordinates of an object, the press service of the State Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus reported.
The advantage of "Vtolodron" is the combination of aircraft speed and quadcopter convenience. The drone does not need a separate runway or a catapult for take-off.
Drone characteristics:
- Maximum speed — up to 120 km/h
- Cruising speed — 100 km/h
- Flight duration — up to 90 min.
- Payload mass — up to 10 kg
- Operating temperature — from -35 °С to +50 °С).
Thanks to stable communication, the tactical radius of "Vtolodron" is at least 50 km. The UAV operator can perform tasks in dark and light hours.
