Displaced imports worth 2 billion: "Traks" factory started producing components for train climate systems

Aluminum parts for compressors and fans will be used in railway cars

The "Traks" company launched a new section in Mytishchi for the production of key components for rolling stock climate systems – compressors, fans, and electric motors, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" was informed by the press service of the Industrial Development Fund (IDF). Total investments in production development amounted to 2 billion rubles, of which 1 billion was provided by the IDF in the form of a preferential loan.

The new section organized the casting of aluminum parts under pressure. This method allows obtaining complex configuration products with a wall thickness of up to 1.5 millimeters. In total, with the involvement of IDF funds, the enterprise plans to acquire and install 127 units of equipment and 54 units of technological tooling.

By the end of 2026, "Traks" will develop 26 models of fans with its own electric motors and 4 models of freon refrigeration compressors. The company will also establish serial production of 6 models of fans and 3 models of compressors for railway and urban transport.

In Russia, serial production of compressors and fans for transport climate systems is just being established, the company emphasized. Foreign analogues often do not meet design parameters or operating conditions, which makes domestic components particularly in demand. The investment project is aimed at deepening localization and developing its own production, and in the future – at ensuring Russia's technological independence in the field of refrigeration engineering.

Mastering the full production cycle will allow increasing the share of domestic components in the entire range of climate systems for transport to 95 percent by the end of 2028. The division already manufactures systems for single-deck and double-deck passenger cars of the Tver Carriage Works, "Ivolga" electric trains, "Moscow-2026" metro trains, and wheeled special equipment.
