Banks will stop trusting old numbers: operators and "Gosuslugi" joined "Antifraud"

After termination of the communication contract, the SIM card will be automatically unlinked from important accounts

12 organizations have already connected to the state "Antifraud" system against cyber fraud. Among them are "Gosuslugi", major banks and telecom operators, reported the office of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko.

The main scenario concerns numbers that a person has stopped using. When a communication contract is terminated, this information is sent to the system. After that, the number is automatically unlinked from important accounts – including banking applications.

This mechanism should close a popular loophole for fraudsters. If an old number is transferred to another person, it can no longer be used to log into other people's services or receive confirmation codes.

"Antifraud" was launched in March. The system combines data from the state, banks and telecom operators to quickly detect suspicious situations and prevent attackers from using other people's numbers in financial services.

The authorities continue to connect new organizations to the platform and expand scenarios for protection against cyber fraud.
