Preliminary tests of the new continuous methane leak monitoring system "Areal-360" have been completed in Belarus. The complex detected all simulated gas emissions under real operating conditions and provided control of the territory within a radius of up to 150 meters. The solution was developed by OAO "Peleng", which is part of the State Military Industrial Committee system.
The development is designed for round-the-clock automatic monitoring of the air environment at compressor and gas distribution stations, as well as at gas processing enterprises. The system tracks the appearance of methane leaks, allowing for prompt detection of potentially dangerous situations and reduction of technological losses.
Even difficult weather conditions did not affect the test results. With wind gusts up to 25 meters per second, the complex performed all planned checks without failures.
Following the tests, "Areal-360" recorded all simulated methane leaks, demonstrating 100% detection efficiency. The system detected gas emission sources at a distance of up to 150 meters from the optical unit, which ensures control of the entire territory of a typical compressor station.
