Russia's largest ferroalloy producer faces bankruptcy

A Moscow firm plans to file for insolvency against CHEMK

The company "Global Logistic Transport Moscow" has announced its intention to file a lawsuit to declare AO "Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine" (CHEMK) bankrupt. The announcement was posted on the "Fedresurs" portal.

The bankruptcy petition will be filed with the Moscow Arbitration Court. Two Sverdlovsk companies, OOO "PMH "Tagilskaya Stal"" and OOO "Rock Drilling Solutions", also announced their intention to bankrupt CHEMK. All three notifications were published in June.

CHEMK has long been in a crisis state. From September 1, 2025, a four-day work week was introduced at the plant. The measure affected about 1.2 thousand employees.

The Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine is the largest producer of ferroalloys in Russia. Currently, the shares of the plants within CHEMK are owned by the Federal Agency for State Property Management.

It should be noted that ferroalloys are indispensable in aviation. The material is needed for heat-resistant nickel alloys and steel for fuselages and landing gear.
