Tracked robotic lawnmowers deployed to combat hogweed in Moscow

MZD demonstrated the operation of self-propelled machines

Employees of the Moscow Railway (MZD) have started using a self-propelled robotic lawnmower to cut hogweed at stations and lines of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) and the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). This was reported by the MZD press service.

In total, since the beginning of the season, autonomous systems have processed 24 hectares of territory, including at Solnechnaya, Tsaritsyno, Lyublino, Andronovka, and Likhobory stations. The productivity of one robotic lawnmower is 3 hectares in 8 hours.

Thanks to their tracked chassis, the robots move on slopes and cut grass and shrub growth. Human involvement is limited to remote control.
