Russia to sharply increase production of Zarnitsa thermal imagers: all new Verba MANPADS will be equipped with them

The military department intends to eliminate the shortage of devices and increase their production volumes

Zarnitsa thermal imagers are planned to be included in all new Verba man-portable air defense systems, and the production volumes of these devices are already being increased to cover the existing demand. The expansion of production was announced by Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.

The head of the Ministry of Defense stated that the existing production volumes are not yet sufficient to fully meet the needs. According to him, the department is already expanding the production of these devices and aims to provide the same number of Verba systems with thermal imagers as are supplied to the troops.

Belousov noted that "Zarnitsa" has proven itself well in operation and does not cause complaints in terms of reliability and performance. That is why the emphasis is not on modernizing the product, but on increasing the number of manufactured devices.

In fact, this is about synchronizing supplies: each new Verba MANPADS must be equipped with its own thermal imager. This decision will improve the manning of crews and expand the capabilities of using the systems in conditions of limited visibility.
