In future SV carriages, passengers are promised more space and comfort. The new enlarged-gauge sleeping car T will be 11% more spacious compared to standard carriages, and sleeping berths will grow to 2 meters in length. Details were revealed by the RZD press service.
The carriage itself will become larger: its length will increase by 73 cm, and its width by 28 cm. Thanks to this, the shelves will be 16 cm longer than the current standard.
The new SV carriages are also planned to be equipped with a separate shower cabin in each carriage. In addition, passengers are promised more luggage storage space and individual armrests.
Earlier, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, RZD presented four interior options for the future carriage. Visitors to the stand could vote for their favorite design.
The option in dark blue tones received the most votes. It was chosen by 45% of the participants in the voting.
The RZD project is being implemented jointly with Transmashholding. The company clarified that the choice of shade is only the first stage of interior development. Next, materials need to be selected to maintain a balance between appearance, practicality, and comfort.
