Will protect sky and land: Almaz-Antey created a new mini-air defense station "Sokol"

The radar can intercept up to 50 drones simultaneously

The Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Corporation for the first time presented a new Sokol radar station, capable of intercepting up to 50 drones simultaneously. The development was showcased at the "Fleet-2026" naval exhibition.

The key feature of "Sokol" compared to its counterparts is the presence of an air defense function, as well as simultaneous tracking of surface and ground targets.

The system can detect an FPV drone at a range of 2 km, aircraft-type drones at a distance of 5 km, and is capable of simultaneously monitoring 50 drones.

"Sokol" also turned out to be smaller and cheaper than competitors and is powered by a standard 220 V network.

Also, a laser air defense system "Posokh" is being developed in Russia. The complex operates by physically affecting UAVs based on focused ytterbium radiation technology. Initially, the installation hit drones at a distance of 700 m, and then the range increased to 1 km.
