From Moscow to Mexico City: Whoosh Launches Kicksharing in the Mexican Capital

The opening match of the 2026 World Cup could boost demand for short trips

Whoosh continues to expand in Latin America and has entered Mexico City. This is already the company's second location in Mexico after San Pedro and one of the most promising cities in the region for kicksharing development.

Initially, 1,000 Whoosh scooters will be deployed in the Mexican capital. The company plans to increase the fleet to 5,000 devices in the future. Whoosh considers Mexico City a market comparable to Moscow: it is a large metropolis with high population density, dense development, congested transport, and high demand for short trips.

An additional growth factor could be the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Mexico City will host the opening match and several other games of the tournament, so an influx of tourists and additional strain on public transport are expected in the city. In such conditions, scooters can become a convenient option for short routes within the city.

Latin America has already become a significant part of Whoosh's business. By the end of 2025, there were 14.3 thousand personal mobility devices in the region, and the company plans to double its fleet in 2026. Currently, Whoosh operates in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

By the end of 2025, Latin America brought 14% of revenue and 20% of EBITDA to the "Whoosh Holding" group. In the medium term, the company expects the region to provide up to 30-40% of revenue.

International expansion remains one of Whoosh's key directions. The company is betting on new markets to increase revenue, diversify demand, and reduce dependence on individual countries.
