The Voronezh enterprise VASO provided over 42% of the airframe for the regional passenger aircraft Il-114-300, forming a key part of its structure as part of preparations for serial production. This contribution from the Voronezh aircraft plant became a decisive factor in the cooperation for the production of the aircraft.
The enterprise manufactures the main elements of the airframe, including the wing assembly with nacelles and the empennage with installed systems. This volume of work makes VASO one of the main production centers for the Il-114-300 program.
The Il-114-300 aircraft itself has been approved for serial production, which opens the stage of industrial production of the regional turboprop liner. The aircraft is designed to carry up to 66 passengers and is equipped with modern Russian control systems, navigation, and engines.
Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that Indian airlines announced their readiness to purchase 100 to 200 Russian Il-114-300 aircraft. In addition, it became known that Russia plans to create a cargo version of this aircraft.
