VTB faced a large-scale outage of online services due to a DDoS attack. The incident led to the unavailability of the mobile application, website, and some internet banking functions, causing widespread user complaints across the country.
According to the bank, the reason for the degraded access was a distributed DDoS attack on VTB's infrastructure. The credit institution reported that specialists are working to restore stable system operation and promised to return access to services in the near future. During the outage, clients are advised to use ATMs for payments and transfers.
According to monitoring services, the first signs of the outage were recorded around 11:30 AM Moscow time. By midday, the number of user reports exceeded several thousand, with the most common complaints being the inability to log into the mobile bank, open the website, and view information on accounts and deposits.
A bank representative stated that the team is working to restore access and advises using alternative offline service channels.
