The new stage of SMP Formula 4 will take place in Kazan: young racers will tackle one of Russia's most challenging tracks

The elevation change at Kazan Ring reaches 27 meters, and for many drivers, this race will be their first on the track

The second stage of the Russian SMP Formula 4 Championship will be held in Kazan on June 13 and 14. Young drivers will compete on one of the country's most unusual tracks – Kazan Ring. Its main feature is an elevation change of 27 meters, which is roughly equivalent to the height of a nine-story building. For many participants, this will be their first race on this track.

Interest in the stage was fueled by the bright start to the season at Moscow Raceway. Four different drivers won in four races, and another participant became the leader in total points. Debutant Maxim Orlov won his second career race, then lost first place due to a judging penalty, but the very next day, he climbed to the top step of the podium again.

The organizers noted that there were almost more exciting events during the first race weekend than in the entire 2025 season. After such a start, interest in the championship significantly increased. SMP Formula 4 features the best young male and female racers in the country, aged 14 to 24.

The second stage will take place during the long weekend dedicated to Russia Day. Autograph sessions, walks along the starting grid and paddock, a club cafe, and sales of racing merchandise will be prepared for spectators. SMP F4 promoter, head of the "SMP Academy" and former Formula 1 driver Sergey Sirotkin noted that the first stage of the season set a very high bar, and now it is important for the organizers to maintain this level.

Tatarstan actively develops various sports disciplines, but motorsport holds a special place. The head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, is well acquainted with racing himself: he became a three-time Russian champion, won bronze at the European championship, and received the title of Honored Master of Sports.
