It is irrational to use the S-400 "Triumf" anti-aircraft missile system against small drones. Its application nomenclature is completely different, said State Duma deputy from Sverdlovsk Oblast Maxim Ivanov.
The S-400 will not shoot down a UAV. Firstly, because it won't hit it, and secondly, it's like shooting a fly with a cannon.
Ivanov clarified that such anti-aircraft systems are designed for combat operations involving large aircraft. Therefore, small air defense systems, such as "Pantsir," will work perfectly against drones.
Smaller air defense systems, along with mobile fire groups that use paired machine guns with thermal imagers, are designed to shoot down low-flying targets, including UAVs.
Meanwhile, information has emerged that India wants to modernize the S-400 "Triumf" purchased from Russia, strengthening them with new missiles specifically to destroy small drones.
