The cost of constructing the fifth and sixth nuclear icebreakers "Leningrad" and "Stalingrad" of Project 22220 needs to be revised. This was announced by the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov.
According to him, Rosatom is already dealing with the issue of the vessels' price.
It will be necessary to provide additional funding, to revise prices. The financial model is built on the order of a transport service. It is important to hit the right price here.
Alikhanov added that the Baltic Shipyard is working well on efficiency and is not inflating prices; they are below the index for mechanical engineering.
Recall that initially each icebreaker was estimated at 59 billion rubles, but then the price sharply "soared" to 85 billion rubles, which forced the cabinet to look for new sources of funding.
