The model range of the premium Russian automotive brand Senat will be expanded with a crossover. This was announced by Andrey Pankov, CEO of the company.
The third stage will be fully developed for the needs of the Russian market; the car will be an SUV based on this platform.
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), two brand models were presented – the Senat 900 and Senat 1000 sedans. The first is a production car with a three-liter engine producing 326 hp, and the second is its extended VIP version.
For a long time, executive class cars were not assembled in Russia. Senat production was launched on June 4 at the former Toyota site in St. Petersburg.
The Shushary plant had been idle since 2022. In March 2023, it was acquired by FSUE NAMI (Aurus developer) for a symbolic price of 1 ruble. The planned production volume of Senat was not reported.
