The developers of the Max messenger confirmed a malfunction in push notifications on Apple devices. After the application disappeared from the App Store, its copies on iPhones lose their communication channel with the server upon uninstallation. iOS automatically revokes a special token, making it impossible to deliver new message alerts.
Thus, iPhone owners stop seeing incoming message notifications until they manually open the application. The chat does not update in the background, which means users may miss important messages.
Earlier, Max disappeared from the App Store catalog. The developers have not yet found out the reasons. The messenger team is trying to understand the situation and restore the service's functionality on iOS.
