Unsinkable fiberglass unmanned tugboat developed by Russian Navy specialists

The marine drone received a manipulator for capturing small surface objects

Specialists from the Military Training and Research Center of the Russian Navy "Admiral Kuznetsov Naval Academy" have developed an unmanned surface vessel (USV) for rescuing personnel and towing small surface objects (boat, jet ski, buoy, marine drone). This is stated in patent materials.

The utility model also provides for the delivery of a folded PSN-20 inflatable life raft to the accident site. The USV can be used for cargo delivery and towing a tethered sonar.

The USV can be installed in an inclined position on a launching frame both along the sides of the vessel and at the stern.
excerpt from patent materials

The marine drone is launched by free fall after the retaining stoppers are disengaged. The development splashes down at a safe distance from the carrier vessel.

The USV design includes a hull with a propulsion complex and a remote control system. Its stern is equipped with a working platform with a folded life raft and a manipulator for capturing small floating objects.

The drone will be made of reinforced fire-resistant polyester fiberglass. Unsinkability is ensured by special buoyancy compartments filled with foamed polyurethane foam. The boat is also equipped with a rubberized fender to protect the hull from collision when approaching an emergency vessel.
