Russians on KAMAZ win Taklamakan Canyon Rally in China

Racing trucks covered almost 3,500 kilometers of off-road terrain

The Russian team "KAMAZ-master" won the international Taklamakan Rally 2026, which concluded in China on June 1. The crew of Bogdan Karimov, Dmitry Nikitin, and Ilgiz Akhmetzyanov finished first, while Almaz Akhmedov, Ivan Malkov, and Anton Shibalov took second place. The third prize winner was Yuri Naiman's crew from the Ural Motorsport team.

The final special stage, 159 kilometers long, took place in the Wensu Grand Canyon area. The track was severely damaged by floods and landslides. Pilots had to overcome riverbeds, deep gorges, boulders, and ravines with water. The KAMAZ-master crews completed the final stage without stops or incidents.

The race featured KAMAZ-4326-9 racing trucks – a 4x4 sport prototype designed for rally raids. The vehicle is equipped with an 8.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine with about 1000 horsepower, a 6-speed sequential gearbox, and independent all-wheel suspension. The truck can reach speeds of up to 165 kilometers per hour.
