New Mikimed-6 microscopes from LOMO delivered to Berdyansk Medical College

The equipment meets modern requirements for educational and laboratory facilities

JSC "LOMO" (part of the Kalashnikov concern) supplied modern microscopes to Berdyansk Medical College, the company announced. The Mikimed-6 microscopes meet modern requirements for educational and laboratory facilities. Thanks to them, the college will expand opportunities for the development of educational and outreach programs, and future mid-level medical specialists will be able to improve their training.

The device provides observation of objects in transmitted light using the brightfield method. In the basic configuration, the microscope provides magnification from 40x to 1000x. For this purpose, four planachromatic objectives with infinity correction are used: 4x, 10x, 40x, and 100x (immersion). The rotating revolving nosepiece is designed to accommodate up to five objectives, and 10x wide-field eyepieces provide comfortable visual observation.

The illumination system corresponds to the Köhler method and ensures uniform light distribution across the entire field of view. Depending on the version, the microscope is equipped with a halogen lamp (12–16 V, 20 W) or an LED illuminator with a service life of up to 30,000 hours. Precise focusing is carried out using coaxial coarse and fine adjustment knobs. The stage with a two-coordinate mechanism moves the sample with high accuracy. If necessary, the microscope can be retrofitted for darkfield, phase contrast, and luminescence research methods. The weight of the device is about 8–9 kilograms, dimensions are 340×300×420 millimeters.
