Scammers have launched a resource that masquerades as the official website of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' cybercrime department. The fake portal replicates the design of the state agency and is used to confirm the legend during telephone fraud.
The scheme is designed for visual persuasion of the victim. The attacker dictates a “personal employee number,” after which the fake resource displays a fictitious position, department, and even a photo. To enhance the effect, the website features a chat form that can be used to record the interlocutor's video without their knowledge.
Also, for some reason, the scammers are confident that the structure of the Federal Service has only three employees. I especially liked the position of “senior manager” in the counter-terrorism financing department. For a federal agency, this sounds about as convincing as “chief state security salesperson.”
At the same time, according to OSINT analysts, this version of the agency's “staff” turned out to have only three people, and one of them was listed as “senior manager” in the counter-terrorism financing department. The resource was promptly blocked.
