There is a storm, but no direct connection: astronomer doubts the influence of solar flares on people

Scientists have not yet found a proven correlation between geomagnetic events and health

The impact of magnetic storms on human well-being may be greatly exaggerated. This was stated by Sergey Nazarov, a researcher at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory and an astronomer.

According to him, no direct connection has yet been found between magnetic storms after solar flares and the state of people. Nazarov noted that humans do not have organs that directly sense changes in the Earth's magnetic field.

The astronomer believes that the possible influence of solar activity, if it manifests itself at all, is more likely related to indirect mechanisms and the psychophysiological state of a person. In most cases, in his opinion, the deterioration of well-being during magnetic storms can be explained by self-hypnosis.

At the same time, magnetic storms do indeed occur after powerful solar flares and can affect technology, communications, satellites, and energy infrastructure. However, a direct impact on humans, as Nazarov emphasized, has not been scientifically confirmed.
