KAMAZ-52229 gas bus and KAMAZ-52222 electric bus showcased at "TransportFest" in St. Petersburg

Both A5 generation vehicles are already in production and run on alternative fuels

KAMAZ brought two new passenger vehicles running on alternative fuels to the VII International Transport Festival "TransportFest" in St. Petersburg. Both vehicles belong to the latest A5 generation.

KAMAZ-52229 Tourist Bus (CNG)

  • Power unit: KAMAZ gas engine with 235 kW (320 hp) and a robotic gearbox.
  • Range: at least 500 km (cylinders with a total volume of 1110 liters).
  • Passenger capacity: 47 seats with individual service blocks (USB, folding table, backrest adjustment).
  • Equipment: ADAS system, climate control, kitchen unit with refrigerator, toilet, driver's sleeping place.
  • Safety: gas leak sensors in the engine compartment, near the cylinders, and in the LPG compartment.

KAMAZ-52222 Electric Bus

  • Battery: Russian NMC, range up to 100 km (at 50% load and +10°C).
  • Passenger capacity: 85 people (35 seated places).
  • Doors: plug-sliding with electric drive, preventing pinching; light indication of closing.
  • Accumulation area: 1380 mm wide (European standard).
  • Comfort and lighting: adaptive ambient lighting (cold light in the morning, warm in the evening); climate system with optimized airflows; heated steering wheel, electronic parking brake.

Both models are already in serial production. KAMAZ-52222 and KAMAZ-52229 symbolize the plant's transition to eco-friendly transport, combining the long-haul capabilities of a gas liner with the urban efficiency of an electric bus.
