The Algerian Air Force may receive a two-seater version of the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. The potential customer was named by the American publication The National Interest (TNI).
The publication's analysts noted that basic Su-57s have been seen over Algeria several times. In their opinion, this indicates an imminent delivery of Russian aircraft to the republic.
As Algeria plans to operate the Su-57, there may be a need for trainer aircraft.
The publication added that the Su-57 is exceptionally maneuverable, so the pilot must have good skills.
Earlier, US media stated that a second crew member on the Su-57D would significantly simplify interaction with unmanned wingmen, including the heavy S-70 "Okhotnik" drone. However, such a configuration would affect the aircraft's maneuverability.
