"Moguchiy" Launched: New Dry Cargo Ship of Project RSD60 Launched in Balakovo

The vessel with ice class Ice20 and a deadweight of 4380 tons is prepared for river and sea transportation

The dry cargo motor ship "Moguchiy" of Project RSD60 was launched at the Balakovo Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant. The vessel is designed for the transportation of mineral and construction cargo, containers, and dangerous goods.

The completion of one of the construction stages was announced by the head of the Balakovo Municipal District, Sergey Barulin. According to him, the launch of the vessel on Volga Day became an important event for the district, where large shipbuilding projects continue to be implemented.

"Moguchiy" became the second dry cargo ship of Project RSD60, developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau company. The vessel's length is 118 meters, and its width is 13.2 meters. The full displacement reaches 6379 tons, and the deadweight is 4380 tons.

According to the Russian Classification Society, which supervised the construction, the dry cargo ship belongs to the "river-sea" navigation class and can operate in waves up to 3.5 meters high. The Ice20 ice class provides for a reinforced hull for operation in broken ice.
