AI Demands Space: RTK-TSOD and Nizhny Novgorod Region to Expand Data Centers

The agreement provides for new computing capacities for neural network projects

The Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the service provider RTK-TSOD have agreed on the joint development of data center infrastructure in the region. The agreement was signed at the CIPR conference in Nizhny Novgorod by Governor Gleb Nikitin and the company's CEO David Martirosov.

The document provides for the expansion of data center infrastructure, which will be needed for training and using artificial intelligence systems. The parties also plan to develop the existing data center using a combined energy supply scheme. In addition, RTK-TSOD will open a support office in the region: its specialists will provide technological support for government services.

A separate area of the agreement is related to personnel. The Nizhny Novgorod Region and RTK-TSOD intend to strengthen the local ICT sector: attract specialized professionals from other regions and train new employees at the NEYMARK IT campus and other educational institutions in the region.

Gleb Nikitin noted that the RTK-TSOD data center in Nizhny Novgorod already serves the regional infrastructure, and the construction of the second phase confirms the growing demand for computing power. According to him, the development of human resources will be an equally important part of the cooperation.

Deputy Governor Egor Polyakov added that the region is already facing a shortage of computing resources for large IT projects. Together with RTK-TSOD, the authorities plan to develop a new mechanism to stimulate investment in the construction of data centers in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

David Martirosov emphasized that the company is not limited to building data centers, but provides a full range of cloud IT services based on them. According to him, RTK-TSOD participates in the creation of not only physical, but also digital infrastructure of the region, which is needed by government and commercial organizations for their daily work.
