New Role Devised for BMPT "Terminator" in Assaults

Combat vehicles began creating a wall of fire at a range of 15 km

BMPT "Terminator" vehicles have started employing new tactics during assaults on fortified areas. Now, tank support combat vehicles work in conjunction with tanks using a multi-stage defense suppression scheme.

First, tanks strike fortifications from a distance of up to 15 kilometers. After this, BMPT "Terminator" vehicles advance, suppressing manpower, firing points, and light armored vehicles with dense fire.

The main task of the vehicle is to create a continuous wall of fire in front of assault groups. Thanks to two 30-mm automatic cannons, grenade launchers, and high rate of fire, the BMPT is capable of quickly engaging multiple targets simultaneously.

On the battlefield, "Terminators" can be entrusted with solving many tasks. Everything depends only on their equipment and the objectives of the operation, said military expert Alexey Leonkov.

In the future, the BMPT will require an uninhabited combat module with a transition to a 57-mm caliber gun, and instead of passive grilles – full-fledged active protection.

Earlier, it became known that "Terminator" crews practiced interaction with T-90M and T-80BVM tanks. In fact, the BMPT turned into an "enforcer" that clears the battlefield for its heavier counterparts.
