AvtoVAZ is bringing the new light van SKM M7 to dealers – a business vehicle that should occupy a place between Lada Largus and "GAZelles". The model has rear-wheel drive, a 2.0-liter 137 hp engine, a manual gearbox, a reinforced structure for heavy loads, and a starting price of 2.863 million rubles.
The SKM M7 is a modified version of the Chinese SRM Jinhaishi car from the Shineray brand, adapted for the Russian market. The model is positioned not as a novelty for passenger cars, but as an effective tool for business and transportation. It is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as for service departments and commercial tasks.
The van is equipped with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 137 hp. It is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The platform is rear-wheel drive, with a solid axle on leaf springs, meaning it is designed for high loads.
The equipment includes air conditioning, front airbags, stability control system, rear disc brakes, a rearview camera, and parking sensors. Also provided are a light sensor, electric mirrors, LED daytime running lights, a multimedia system with a digital instrument panel, a multi-function steering wheel, and a voice assistant.
The car is produced in Russia and adapted to local conditions. It has reinforced engine and fuel tank protection, galvanized body panels, and the ability to use AI-92 gasoline. The model is available in two versions – "Praktik" and "Komfort".
There are already several commercial models in Russia for similar tasks, but they occupy different niches. The LADA Largus Van is a more compact option for urban delivery routes and small businesses. "Sobol NN" and "GAZelle NEXT/NN" are larger vehicles with different body types, a large cargo area, and heavier transportation tasks. Another player in the market is Sollers Atlant in various configurations.
