Four EMERCOM aviation units will be established in the Russian Arctic zone to operate in the hard-to-reach areas of the Far North. Their basing is planned in Tiksi, Dikson, and Anadyr, as well as in Yamal, where the necessary airfield infrastructure is currently being developed. This was announced by the head of EMERCOM of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov.
The core of the new units will be the Mi-38PS helicopter, adapted for operation in Arctic conditions. The agency notes that the equipment is already being delivered to rescuers, and crews are undergoing theoretical and practical training for work in a complex climatic environment.
Earlier, "Russian Helicopters" delivered the first batch of Mi-38PS to EMERCOM, developed to meet the challenges of rescue operations in northern regions. The agency emphasizes that the machines were created specifically to EMERCOM's requirements.
The direct speech of the head of EMERCOM regarding the creation of aviation units was presented as a message: the formation of units and their deployment is being carried out as part of strengthening the aviation group in the Arctic.
