T-90M and T-72B3M Tanks Receive New Anti-Drone Upgrade

Modified "Tucha" mortar layout enhances protection against high-precision weapons

In new deliveries of T-90M, T-80BVM, and T-72B3M tanks, the main priority has been the survivability of combat vehicles and crew protection, as reported by Uralvagonzavod.

The design of the equipment has been refined based on combat experience. Changes have also affected elements of additional protection against drones.

The publication "Vestnik Mordovii" noted that new mounting elements, designed for installing "Tucha" system mortars, have appeared on the T-72B3M and T-90M.

These devices are used to fire smoke aerosol grenades, creating a screen and concealing the tank from enemy targeting systems.

Additionally, the T-80BVM has been equipped with additional protective screens, increasing its resistance to damaging agents.
