The railway ferry "Ambal" has left the Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) — Baltiysk (Kaliningrad region) transport line; it has been sent for scheduled repairs. This was announced by the vessel's operator, "Oboronlogistika".
Maintenance, according to preliminary estimates, may take up to two months.
Specialists of the ship repair enterprise will check all mechanisms and units of the ferry. The ferry will be promptly returned to the line to supply the region.
Ferry "Ambal"
The vessel was built in 1990 in Germany. It is designed for transporting railway cars and rolling stock. The rolling stock is placed on 3 cargo decks. The ferry has cabins for 12 people.
The average cargo weight is 8,200 tons. Within 30 days, "Ambal" makes up to 6 voyages. The last scheduled repair of the ferry took place in April 2024. The vessel's home port is Kaliningrad.
