The newest Karakurt missile ships turned into ghosts at the shipyards

Center AST: delivery times for engines for three Project 22800 units have been delayed

Three new Project 22800 Karakurt small missile ships (MRK) are in an uncertain state at the shipyards due to problems with the supply of main diesel engines and funding. This was reported by the Center AST.

This refers to the ships "Kozelsk" (hull No. 254), "Okhotsk" (hull No. 255) and "Vikhr" (hull No. 256). Their hulls were built at the More plant in Feodosia, and then towed back in 2019–2020 to the Pella enterprise, which was hit by lawsuits. Since then, completion has been virtually frozen.

Recall that the St. Petersburg enterprise Zvezda is the supplier of M507D-1 engines for the Karakurts. The plant is the only one in Russia that builds marine power plants of this class.

Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Maritime Board, noted that the presence of ships with a significant service life in the Russian Navy negatively affects the combat capabilities of the fleet.
