Before holidays and commemorative dates, scammers have started using a new scheme. In the Urals, a fake announcement of the patriotic campaign "Candle of Memory and a Hundred Grams for Battle" appeared online, through which fraudsters are trying to steal people's personal data. This was reported by the Anti-Terrorist Commission of Sverdlovsk Oblast.
According to regional authorities, scammers created a special messenger channel disguised as a state youth policy body. Through it, they began sending posters of a supposedly patriotic event to administrators of various communities.
The Anti-Terrorist Commission emphasized that the disseminated information is unreliable. They also warned that such disinformation could be used to mislead people, steal personal data, and discredit the memory of defenders of the Fatherland.
Residents were urged not to forward such messages and not to follow links to participate in the campaign.
