What has changed in the T-72BM2

  • Enhanced protection. The area of modular reactive armor has been increased, anti-cumulative grilles and side screens have been installed on the engine compartment.
  • Installed a modern fire control system — the multi-channel "Sosna-U" sight has thermal imaging and laser channels. The commander can fire the cannon.
  • Reduced thermal and acoustic signature. Thanks to the built-in diesel generator, all electronic systems, including communications, sights, and observation, can operate with the main engine turned off.
  • Improved communication. The tank is equipped with new generation digital secure communication tools.

In addition, the T-72BM2 received a boosted V-84MS engine with 840 hp and a modernized chassis. The power unit provides high mobility for the combat vehicle.

Belarusian specialists follow the main rule of Soviet engineers — to create reliable, maintainable tanks with high firepower. The modernization of the T-72BM2 is a contribution to maintaining peace, summarized the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus.
