The Belarusian NPP has reconnected its first power unit to the grid after completing preventive maintenance. The station's equipment was returned to operation on May 6 after inspection and servicing of its main systems.
The BelNPP press service reported that power unit No. 1 was connected to the grid after the completion of equipment maintenance. The work was carried out as scheduled to maintain the reliability and stable operation of the power unit.
The first power unit of the station was taken offline on April 27. At that time, the station's operational personnel disconnected the equipment in agreement with the system operator. BelNPP explained that such work is part of the mandatory technical maintenance schedule.
Earlier, the head of the state corporation "Rosatom", Alexey Likhachev, announced that the company is preparing legal and contractual mechanisms for the implementation of a new stage in the development of nuclear energy in Belarus. This refers to the possible construction of the third power unit of the Belarusian NPP.
