Training exercises with AK-12 and AK-74 rifles against drones held at the Scorpion training ground in Dagestan

Servicemen of the Caspian Flotilla also practiced combating saboteurs

Servicemen of the Caspian Flotilla units practiced destroying drones and unmanned boats of a simulated enemy using small arms manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern. The training took place at the Scorpion training ground in Dagestan. This was reported by the flotilla's press service.

Firing at air and sea targets was carried out using heavy machine guns, AK-12 and AK-74 assault rifles. In addition, the soldiers practiced combating sabotage forces in the coastal zone. They used special dual-medium rifles (hitting targets on land and underwater without changing the barrel or ammunition).

AK-74 vs. Drones

The AK-74 assault rifle is an effective means of combating low-flying drones. To defeat drones, engineers of the Kalashnikov Concern have developed special multi-bullet cartridges of 5.45 mm caliber.

Servicemen also use conventional cartridges against UAVs moving at low speeds. However, the effectiveness of aimed fire is limited to a distance of up to 150 m.
