UMG, the largest Russian manufacturer of construction and road-building machinery, has launched a new 36-ton tracked excavator, the E360C, featuring a large fuel tank. The machine was specifically designed for quarries and complex construction sites where reliability, productivity, and cost-effectiveness are crucial.
The main feature of the new model is its 860-liter fuel tank, the largest in its class. For remote quarries where fuel delivery is expensive, an extended operating range without refueling directly impacts profitability. At the same time, engineers managed to maintain best-in-segment digging parameters: digging depth reaches 7630 mm, maximum radius is 11490 mm, and dumping height is 7360 mm.
The excavator's overall height during loading is only 3120 mm, allowing it to be transported on standard low-loaders without additional permits.
The basic configuration already includes a liquid pre-heater for reliable starting in cold weather, and a centralized lubrication system simplifies maintenance.
Standard equipment for the excavator includes a 3.2-meter arm and a 1.8 m³ bucket for soil with a density of 1.8 t/m³. Optionally, a four-meter arm and buckets ranging from 1.45 to 2.0 m³ made of high-strength domestic steels are available. This expands the scope of application: from digging trenches to working with frozen ground and loosened rock.
For working in hazardous areas, a remote control option with a range of up to 20 km is provided. This solution enhances operator safety, reduces transportation costs, and improves visibility during precise operations.
The new model successfully completed a full cycle of tests at the TVEKS production site, confirming its reliability, productivity, and fuel efficiency. A modification with super-long working equipment, the UMG E360C LR, is planned for release in the near future.
