Cyber Shield for the Sky: "Almaz-Antey" Creates Automatic Protection Against Hacker Attacks on Air Traffic Controllers

Specialists have already worked out interaction procedures between the air traffic control system and air defense forces

The Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern has developed and is testing an automated complex that repels cyberattacks on the air traffic management system. The solution is already being implemented in the facilities of the unified ATM system. This was announced by Dmitry Savitsky, Deputy General Director of the concern.

The complex is multifunctional; it allows repelling even complex cyberattacks on the protected object, ensuring its reliable protection.

The system operates in automatic mode: it detects anomalies, blocks malicious traffic, and helps quickly restore normal operation after restrictions on airspace use are lifted.

Savitsky clarified that the concern's specialists have already worked out interaction procedures between the air traffic control system and air defense forces. These developments allow air carriers to minimize downtime and financial losses when the sky reopens for civilian flights.

The development takes into account modern realities: the increasing number of targeted attacks on transport infrastructure and the need for uninterrupted operation of navigation services. The complex is compatible with existing automated ES OrVD systems and does not require complete equipment replacement.
