A Belarusian cosmonaut could conduct scientific research on the prospective Russian Orbital Station (ROS) during a long-duration flight. This was stated by Vladimir Karanik, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Belarus.
I am confident that with the implementation of the Russian Orbital Station project, Belarus's possible participation will not be limited to joint work on its creation and equipment outfitting.
He reminded that in 2024, the first female cosmonaut, Marina Vasilevskaya, performed a series of experiments in the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS). This became possible thanks to cooperation with Roscosmos, emphasized the NAS of Belarus representative.
Now it is necessary to develop a scientific program for long-duration flights. Relevant consultations have already begun, and the issue is "in the initial stage of development", Karanik concluded.
