Soldiers of the "Zapad" group of forces have developed a new model of a light ground-based robotic complex (NRTK) for remote demining. It is already being used in real combat conditions, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defence reported.
The department emphasized that this is "a technological breakthrough in the field of demining."
The main task of the device is to save the lives of assault troops.
The robot moves ahead of assault groups and clears the way, creating a safe corridor. It is equipped with a special trawl that provokes the detonation of anti-personnel mines.
Thanks to the NRTK, Russian Armed Forces units swiftly pass through enemy minefields. The development has already proven its effectiveness, the Russian Ministry of Defence concluded.
