KamAZ Replaces German Deutz Engines on a Vessel in Khabarovsk

Foreign units for the SVP-50 became unavailable due to sanctions

The Khabarovsk Shipyard has begun mooring trials of the SVP-50 hovercraft with new KamAZ R6 engines. These replaced the initially planned German Deutz units.

The main change in the project is due to sanctions. Due to the unavailability of foreign engines, developers had to revise the design, which temporarily halted construction.

After redesign, construction resumed. Specialists have already conducted a control weighing and proceeded to check systems and mechanisms at the pier.

The SVP-50 is designed for year-round passenger transportation in hard-to-reach regions. The vessel can move not only on water, but also on ice, polluted waters, and even on land in off-road conditions.

Recall that the R6 is a powerful inline 12-liter engine with a huge resource, which was originally designed as a universal platform. It is installed not only on trucks, but also on quarry dump trucks, diesel generators, and special equipment. Now this unit will operate on the vessel.
