The "Shvabe" holding (part of Rostec) supplied 34 multifunctional MAIA-01 inhalation anesthesia machines to 13 hospitals and maternity homes in the Moscow Region. The device combines lung ventilation, anesthesia delivery, and monitoring of vital patient parameters in one unit. The equipment is designed for both adults and children from one year of age and was supplied as part of the national project "Family".
The key design difference of the model is the electric drive of the IVL unit instead of a pneumatic one, which eliminates dependence on a centralized air supply system. The apparatus supports all known anesthetics, including xenon, which excludes side effects. An expanded list of respiratory support modes provides dual control – by tidal volume and airway pressure. The updated software minimizes blood pressure measurement error and automatically calculates the optimal concentration of the administered drug.
Digital monitoring constantly tracks the patient's condition, and a system of electronic rotameters and sensors increases anesthesia safety. Rostec emphasized that they are increasing the development and production of medical equipment with the goal of replacing foreign samples. In addition to the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after Yalamov, medical equipment within the holding's structure is produced by the Krasnogorsk Plant named after Zverev, the Moscow Plant "Sapfir", the Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant, and the Novosibirsk Instrument-Making Plant.
In fact, MAIA-01 fills a critical niche in anesthesiology equipment, where pneumatic network failure or inaccurate dosage leads to life-threatening risks. Air autonomy, xenon support, and precise concentration calculation reduce dependence on external infrastructure and the human factor, while broad production cooperation ensures the replication of the technology.
